Introduction to Rush Weaving

with Linda Lemieux & Elizabeth Crawford
February 2020 - Saturday 15th & Sunday 16th 10am to 4:00pm
Course tuition cost per person - £135 for 2 days materials included in the cost
We will introduce a range of techniques for working with river rush, including multi element plaiting, diagonal plait weave, and twining/waling over a mould. You will produce one or more small finished pieces as you learn.
Please wear warm work clothes & shoes

Frame Baskets
April 2020 - Saturday 4th & Sunday 5th 10am to 4:00pm
Course tuition cost per person - £120 for 2 days plus materials, £8 to £15 depending on project
Beginners & experienced, using a range of beautifully coloured semi-green willow, dogwood, & hazel. Construct a ribbed basket using Devon, Welsh & Irish techniques

Weave a Moorland Pouch

April 2020 - Saturday 25th, Sunday 26th and Monday 27th (third day optional), 10am-4pm
Cost per person £135 for two days, £185 for three days. Day three £65 when booked alone materials included in the cost
The weekend will bring together techniques to create a beautiful small pouch, woven over a mould. An additional third day on April 27th will cover all sorts of straps, fastenings and embellishments using rush and natural moorland materials. Please specify when booking which days you will be attending.

Rush Chair Seating & Rush Basketry
October 2020 - Saturday 14th & Sunday 15th 10am to 4:00pm
Course tuition cost per person - £120 for 2 days plus materials, £12 to £25 depending on project
Please bring your own chair or stool with woodwork repaired, reglued if necessary, cleaned & ready for re-seating with my soft, river rush.
Rush baskets & hats are made on a mould, various options are available.
